The Scent Architect: The Story of Wanderlust Scents
A Legacy of Blending Since 2009
Fragrance is the only medium that can transport you across the globe in a single breath. For me, that obsession with "recreation through scent" didn’t start with a business plan—it started at the workbench in 2009.
Before Wanderlust Scents sold its first jar, I spent years privately mastering the "blueprints" of my favorite travel memories. I dismantled scents and rebuilt them, learning exactly how a fragrance can evoke a feeling, a place, or a moment in time. This period of quiet refinement became the foundation for everything we do today.
From Passion to Profession
In 2015, those years of formulation became a reality when I founded Wanderlust Scents. In 2021, with the support of my wife and our seven children, I walked away from a long-term corporate career to follow the scent trail full-time. We opened our historic flagship storefront in downtown Waupaca, Wisconsin, turning a passion project into a destination for fine fragrance.
The "Scent Architect" Approach
As the Founder and Principal Perfumer, I don't just "make" candles; I design atmospheres. Every fragrance in our collection is a proprietary formulation born from nearly two decades of olfactory research. We are committed to the "Slow Scent" movement:
- Small Batches: Every product is poured by hand to ensure artisanal quality and a perfect burn.
- Clean Ingredients: We use a signature soy wax and phthalate-free oils for a non-toxic, soot-free experience.
- Original Formulations: You won't find "off-the-shelf" scents here. Every aroma is an original creation developed by my own hands.
